Responses to questions on quarantine, hospitalization, and deaths of residents, fellows, and faculty members will not be used in accreditation decisions. Neither will this information be shared with the Review Committees or any other audience in anything other than a de-identified and aggregated manner.
The Review Committees will have available a program’s responses to other questions (period of maximal impact, increases or decreases in various clinical activities, re-assignment of residents/fellows, ‘platooning,’ structured educational activities, telemedicine, and elective operations/procedures). Note that these questions do not address a program’s degree of compliance with specific program requirements during the pandemic. It is anticipated that the Review Committees will use this information as a lens through which any deficiency noted on review of a program’s annual data will be viewed.
